Play, shame and chaotic pleasure at the crafts table

Doors 18:30 ● On stage 19:00 ● approx. 60 min ● ENG

In SPÖKA the audience meets an adult pretending to be a child—or someone who is neither a girl nor yet a woman. At the crafts table, improvised games and reenactments of Swedish children’s television from the 1970s to the early 2000s unfold, blending rehearsed moments with spontaneous ideas.

Inspired by how children’s unsupervised play can lead to explorations of violence or sexuality, Stina Fors creates a night of play, chaos and pleasure—often flirting with tension, discomfort and shame. At its core, SPÖKA is a reflection on when play becomes not just entertainment, but a way to process emotions.

Stina Fors, born 1989 in Gothenburg, is a choreographer and performer based in Vienna. She studied at SNDO in Amsterdam, the Royal Swedish Ballet School in Stockholm, Broadway Dance Center in New York, and Gothenburg Art College. Her work has been presented at venues such as Tanzquartier Wien, La Casa Encendida, MDT, Inkonst and Wiener Festwochen. In 2024, she participated in Luxembourg’s pavilion at the Venice Biennale and Austria’s stage programme at the Gwangju Biennale.
