Isabella Tennant is an Appalachian reader, writer, and teacher. She’s taught English professionally and works with technical writing daily as a grant writer for Fairmont State University. Her creative writing has been published in WVU’s Calliope and the HeartWood Literary Magazine.
Creative Writing Class for Teens-- Explore creative writing through the creation of various forms of poetry including, shape poetry, blackout poetry, and collage poetry. Students will write their own creative pieces and design a visual layout for those pieces. Participants in this class can expect to learn more about the art of poetry while also enjoying creating art in a collaborative environment.
Creative Writing Class for Adults-- Hone your creative writing skills through the exploration of genres like short stories, creative nonfiction, and fantasy through a writing workshop style class. Participants in this class can expect to learn practical skills to enhance their writing abilities as well as current tips related to publishing their work. This first class will focus on character development and design, emphasizing the roles characters play in our stories, both literal and figurative.
