National Night Out will be back in Saco again this summer!
The Saco Police Department invites community members to join them at Thornton Academy on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, for one of their most valued opportunities to create positive relationships between first responders and residents.
This nationwide event is an annual community-building campaign promoting police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
Saco’s event includes a twist on the National Night Out theme — here, you won’t just have the chance to engage with local police officers, but several other City departments will also be in attendance. This includes Saco Communications, Fire, and Parks & Recreation departments, among others.
Community members can stop by the Thornton Academy quad from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Aug. 5 to grab some fresh-grilled dinner, other tasty treats, and a variety of kids activities, including:
• Dunk tank, inflatables, and face painting
• Touch-a-Truck displays with Saco Police and Fire departments
• Community partner activities, including visits with Maine Marine Patrol, Michael T. Goulet Foundation, York County EMA, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Maine Warden Service, and more
• And a raffle, including some great prizes!
