Wednesday 23 July – Tuesday 29 July

Explore the layered world of A Path of Fleeting Dreams, a video work by local multi-disciplinary artist Sherry Quiambao. This intimate work delves into the complexities of consumerism through the personal lend of family history. Drawing on her mother’s 1980 migration from the Philippines to regional Australia, Sherry reflects on the themes of ambition, cultural adaption, and the search for comfort amidst new surroundings.

The work features a performer dressed in a traditional Filipino terno, who interacts with household objects in a minimal set. These interactions, imbued with symbolism, evoke the comforts and dissonances of building a new life in a foreign land. The video’s visuals are accompanied by a sound composition by Tom Lee, creating an immersive experience that invites viewers to contemplate the everyday objects around them as markers of memory and identity.
