In partnership with the American University in Cairo, ARCE is hosting a three-day, in-person conference in Cairo—also available via live stream—focused on Egypt’s long history of cross-cultural exchange. Spanning from pharaonic times through the Greco-Roman, Islamic, colonial, and modern eras, Egypt has continually interacted with diverse peoples and empires, shaping its language, art, religion, architecture, and identity.
This conference invites scholars to explore the historical, archaeological, artistic, anthropological, and sociopolitical dimensions of these interactions.
The conference will be live-streamed to the public.
