Did you learn to swim here? Did your family picnic along this beautiful section of the creek? Did your grandfather attend the horse races at the track that was here? Or do you only remember weeds, bamboo, trash, and derelict houses? Well Lampasas Forward, a group of Lampasas residents who are committed to building a better future for all Lampasians, are building a hike and bike trail along the most beautiful part of Sulfur Creek and you are invited to see the future on June 27th.

The initial part of the finished project will connect from the Hancock Park trail along the banks of the creek past the 4th Street bridge! The group has not only purchased property along the creek in order to make this possible, but have spent countless days clearing brush, removing invasive species, trash, weeds, and even dilapidated structures in order to create what will arguably be the most beautiful part of the city for families to enjoy.

Bring the entire family to the House of Forgiveness, 908 East 4th Street, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for a FREE fish fry. And while you are there, visit with members of Lampasas Forward, see the future, hear about the Moses Hughes Mill ruins that have been uncovered, the dam that built a lake along the creek and powered the first electric power plant for the city, and St. Christopher's Church that is being rebuilt by the Lampasas Heritage Foundation.

This is your Lampasas and the future is amazing! We look forward to showing it to you.
