As part of NB Food Forest tours organized by Sima's Roots & Fruits, FoodsGood Farm will be hosting a farm tour Saturday July 5th from 10 until noon.
We will be walking through plantings ranging from 10 years old just in the ground this spring with a super diverse mix of species of food and medicinal plants. Highlights of Chestnut, Walnut, Apple, Cherry, Pear, Plum, Peach, Paw Paw, Hazelnut, Elderberry, Aronia, Currants, Gooseberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, Haskap, Grapes, mushrooms and so much more!
I will also be talking about the management challenges of growing such a diverse food system, how it all fits within the permaculture principles and how water is managed on the site with the use of keyline design as well as swales and small ponds.
I will also be setting up farm made goodies for sale after the tour with jams, jellies, pickles, elderberry syrup, fire cider, dried herbs, mushrooms and teas and maybe even some fresh greens from the garden :)
Suggested donation is $15 for the tour which is split between the host and Sima's Roots and Fruits for organizing the summer of tours all around the province. For more info on the summer tour series please click here https://simasrootsandfruits.ca/products/food-forest-tours-2025
