Two Day Contact Improvisation Workshop
& Pre-workshop Class and Jam
4,5,6 July, 2025
Chiang Dao Youth Camp, Thailand
“The dance between body and ground—
the body as an extended ground,
meeting another extension of it.
An experience of mutual discovery:
of life, of the body's intelligence,
its adaptability, and creative power.”
A workshop based on open inquiry in Contact Improvisation, guided through research-based processes: embodied investigation, contemplating, reflecting, witnessing and integrating—emphasizing shared space, ground, direction, center, and attention.
Workshop invite us to move from a state of direct experience, with no preconceived notions. Supporting the dance that is unfolding in its own time. We will reflect on the physical tensions in the body and its necessities, meditate on the availability of our presence, challenge habitual moving behaviors and honor the body that supports us—as we dance into the unknown.
In the Class and jam session there will be an hour guide to tune into our body and space of practice following into jam.

Ganesh(India) and Giyoung(Korea) are improvisational artists working with movement, sound, and performance. They have been practicing with deep interest in various forms—Ganesh in Contemporary Dance, Contact Improvisation, Fluid Acrobatics, Capoeira(Afro-Brazilian martial art), and Bodywork; and Giyoung in Korean Traditional Performing Arts—Yeonhee(including dance, singing, and percussion playing), Contact Improvisation, Improvisation(movement/sound), and Somatics.
Their recent interest lies in 'Something emerges on its own,' an inquiry into recognizing what is already present yet invisible, creating space for it, and allowing it to reveal itself naturally.
