Hatha + Nidra
Advertisement
This one hour Hatha + Nidra class differs to the Tuesday Hatha class as also includes chanting for opening and closing, sun salutations to warm body up and ends with a Yoga Nidra meditation to encourage relaxation.
The full class includes opening and closing prayer, pranayama (breathwork), asana with sun salutations and held physical postures , finishing with Yoga Nidra (body awareness and mindful breathing). A beginner friendly Hatha + Nidra class, each week will have a different focus, driving a slower, (and less dynamic flow than Vinyasa) class with more static postures. Verbal guidance, encouragement and use of props will be used, making this a perfect class for those new to yoga, or those that enjoy a low-impact class.
These classes are beginner friendly with intermediate level adjustments and include the foundations of yoga philosophy. This inclusive and nurturing class will cover both strength building and flexibility for a full range of body types and abilities, moving at a relatively slow place to allow time to transfer between poses with more ease. Common misconceptions of yoga are touched on throughout the class, covering the true philosophy behind yoga practice. As a beginner..if you are wanting to build strength or yogic understanding, this is a slower class to the vinyasa which gives you opportunity to focus on technique. An ideal beginner starting point if you are wishing to focus on strength in your yoga practice along with incorporating yoga Nidra meditation at the end.
Yoga Nidra encourages body awareness, relaxation and aids quality of sleep.
