Dark and Sparkly: Gothic Melaya Leff
Sassy sweet and just a pinch of spooky join Maia Alexandra for a fun mini Melaya Leff choreography with lots of room for personalisation!
Melaya means "wrapper" and this outer drape was used originally as a modesty garment, later becoming the basis of a folkloric fantasy tableau dance. We'll honor those roots while bringing in a lil somethin' extra to the table. Come pet the wolves and toss around your Melaya (or your heaviest, widest veil). Dancing in heels or stompy boots are both valid here (but optional: you can just as well be barefoot)!
Maia Alexandra is a professional Bellydancer, Fire Artist, and CYT based in Buffalo, New York. Maia is a big believer in Breath, Love, Darkwave, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and the Muppets. She's waiting patiently for Art to take over everything. That would be awesome.
