Class Description: Angel Shrine Doll Class (in-person and YouTube instruction)

The inspiration for creating an angel shrine doll came from a children’s bereavement workshop that I attended years ago. The instructor introduced us to the concept of creating a memory box or reliquary. Think of it as a simple “house” filled with small objects that carry special significance and meaning. I have incorporated that concept into creating an angel shrine doll. This class will allow you to integrate your own found object, from a flea market, a thrift store, or your own attic. Use an item that resembles a “house”... to give personal expression to your faith or life journey.

Each doll will be uniquely different–– not only because your story is unique, but also because each “house” used to create the angel shrine doll body will be one-of-a-kind.
I have chosen a thrift store mantel clock, for my “house”.
In this class, we will sculpt a doll head using paper clay, attach wood turnings/finial arms, chipboard wings, and apply vintage book or decorative papers, acrylic paint, and other mediums to the “house”–– creating a shrine or reliquary.

You will be encouraged to introduce meaningful ephemera and use personal memorabilia, while allowing your imagination to run free, throughout the creative process.

5 in-person classes... two-hours each–– ( with homework andYouTube Video follow-up classes)
