A Trip to the Seaside: A Summer Book Club for Adults Experiencing Dementia or Other Brain Changes

Wednesdays, June 25, July 16, and August 20 at 2pm - Join us for one session, two sessions, or all sessions!

Join us on the second floor of ELANCO Library for a book club led by Janie Martin, Dementia Educator and Consultant, ForgeWorks.

Reading is a wonderful way to engage, make connections, and activate memories. People with dementia and brain changes can enjoy reading, which is a skill rooted in our long-term memories.

Don’t miss an opportunity for your loved one to engage in a monthly book club designed for people with brain changes. Book Club can nurture social connections and deeper engagement with others dealing with brain changes. Research has shown that people with brain changes and dementia are severely under-estimated as far as their ability to read. Being part of a book club is more than just a pleasant pastime. This book club allow people with brain changes to be lifelong learners and engage with others on a brain change/dementia journey.

Come enjoy the book A Trip to the Seaside, written by Kate Chesters. This adult book is written and designed for adults with brain changes.

Registration is not required, and same day walk-ins are welcome. However, please register to receive your free copy of A Trip to the Seaside. Registration for the free book is limited to 15; and registration will close on June 8. Visit https://calendar.lancasterlibraries.org/event/trip-seaside-summer-book-club-adults-experiencing-dementia-or-other-brain-changes-led-janie to register.
