This two day course is designed for beginner paddlers who wish to increase their kayaking knowledge and skills so they can safely and confidently navigate Class 1 waters. This course emphasizes re-entry skills, strokes, and day trip planning.
Prerequisites
Some basic kayaking experience will be beneficial.

This is a 2 day course.
Online Pre-learning
To maximize our time on the water, you will be given an online learning module to complete at your leisure. Plan on 4-6 hours to complete this.
Required Equipment
You will need to provide your own kayak, PFD, spray skirt, and safety equipment (whistle, pump, 15 metre buoyant line). All of these items can be rented at the local kayak shop. You will also need to bring clothing suitable for paddling and immersion in
very cold water. A full surfing wetsuit, at least 3 mm thick, or a dry suit is required.
