Peterborough Lions Duck Race

TWO THOUSAND numbered rubber ducks will be dropped into the Nubanusit River from Putnam Park in Peterborough on Saturday, June 28, at 2 p.m. to begin the annual Lucky Duck Race, sponsored by the Peterborough Lions Club.

Ducks will race to the confluence of the Nubanusit and Contoocook rivers, and the owner of the first duck over the finish line at Depot Park will win $1,000. Second place wins, $250; third place, $100.
Fourth prize is an airplane ride for as many as three people over Mount Monadnock and vicinity, courtesy of Lee and Harvey Sawyer of Silver Ranch Airpark, Jaffrey. Gift certificates will also be awarded.
Winners will be announced at the finish line at Depot Park. Ticket holders do not have to be present to win.

Club members have been selling tickets on Saturdays during May and June at tables located around town. Tickets are STILL AVAILABLE right up until the time of the race. The race will benefit local charities.
