Milky Way and Ghost Mushrooms

Come and join a social night of astrophotography at Island Point with a bonus of hunting for ghost mushrooms!
Now is an ideal time of year to capture the Milky Way Core rising to the east which coincides nicely with the emergence of the glowing fungi.
Ghost mushrooms (Omphalotus nidiformis) emerge in teh southwest in the autumn and winter after a good rain - which we have certainly had these past few weeks! Use similar long exposure techniques to astrophotography to capture their luminance.
I have personally been exploring Island Point recently and have found a few patches but note that they may be a short walk into the bush.
Please bring snacks and a warm drink.
Hope to see you there!
