Rick Lenz, Jackson native and veteran actor (best known for Cactus Flower and The Shootist), returns to the stage with his original play The Cataracts. This sharp, heartfelt dramedy explores aging, family tension, and unexpected friendship.
When 78-year-old Theresa is pressured to move in with her niece Fran and Fran’s husband Milt, the arrangement quickly turns rocky. Theresa’s fiery personality has driven off three previous caregivers. Enter Gordy—an ex-Marine turned free spirit whose patience and wit match Theresa’s in ways no one expects. What follows is an honest, funny, and surprising look at what it means to connect when everything else feels like it’s falling apart.
