New Play Reading Series

The New Play Readings are back for the winter! Come along and hear a new play from a local playwright. These events are free to the public and are an integral part to the playwright's process. Have you ever wondered what it takes to write a play and how it might change throughout the process? Having a play read aloud is a helpful tool to a writer and having a thoughtful discussion and feedback session after hearing the play can help clear up questions the writer might have. We have been hosting these play readings over the last few years and they have been well-received by the public and by local playwrights. Take an evening out in Nelson this winter and join us at the Refinery for a bit of Fringe.
From the playwright: "After the death of his wife, Dave puts his heart and soul into raising his only daughter. But what happens to him if something happens to her? This new play by Jim Risner (Only One Choice, 2022 Nominee for Best of Nelson Fringe) looks at the pressures and consequences of an intense relationship and what happens when someone acts before thinking."
Starring Jim Risner & Mira Kienzle
