Supercommunicators—Park Township Speaker Series
There’s a group of people out there that are really good communicators. Charles Duhigg calls them Supercommunicators in his new book by the same name. He indicates that they laugh more, and they make you feel smarter, calmer and more centered when you are around them. A lot of what they do is innate, but they also have learned how to ask questions. Mari Martin has been a resident of Holland since 1983. She lives here with her husband, Chris Martin. Mari has impacted the lives of 27,000 people with her work using the Kolbe suite of assessment tools. She is the founding principal of Performance Strategies Group, known as PSG, now in its 35th year. In that role, she serves as a communication and teambuilding consultant, helping teams master the art of working together. She has worked with over 1,500 teams.
She is the author of the book, Come Home Alive, which chronicles the first throat cancer diagnosis of her husband, Chris. His second diagnosis came in 2020 and required massive surgery that included removing his larynx. She knows a thing or two about communicating with someone who doesn’t speak like all of us in the room today. She is here to provide us insights on how you, too, can become a Supercommunicator.
