We are excited to have the REFOCUS shown in honor of Disability Empowerment Month alongside our other great ADA 35 celebration events. Thanks to a wonderful partnership with Serendipity Studio Gallery and Gifts, this powerful exhibit featuring local individuals with visible disabilities will, once again, be available for public viewing. The atrium at Shriver Square is open to the general public from 8am-7pm each day, except Sunday.
About the exhibit:
The core mission of Refocus is to bridge the gap between initial perceptions and the rich human experiences that lie beneath visible disabilities. People with visible disabilities often face immediate assumptions and judgments due to their conditions, a reality they cannot conceal. Refocus challenges these preconceived notions through the powerful medium of photography, with the aim of telling unique stories, dismantling stigmas and challenging misconceptions. This traveling exhibit is the result of a unique collaboration between two nonprofits in the local community, Rare by Design and Untitled.10, with photography by artist Hollie Leggett.

Serendipity Studio, located in the Shriver building downtown, is a gallery that thrives as a hub of creativity, where imagination knows no limits. Embracing the beautiful diversity that art offers, their gallery exhibits artwork from all walks of life, representing a rich tapestry of cultures, experiences, and perspectives.
