Turn Up the Monster

When you’re ready to rock, it’s time to Turn Up the Monster! TUTM was formed in the Summer of 2019 when two former bandmates reached out to an old friend to see about putting together the best Rock n’ Roll cover band in the Upstate. Jamie “Cashew” Cash is no stranger to the local music scene. In bands such as Bum Rush, Sludgesickle, and a co-founder of Juggernaut, Jamie has played guitar for over thirty years, most recently as part of his church’s live worship experience. Fellow Juggernaut co-founder Clint Upchurch might be recognizable to many as a National 3 Gun Competitive Shooting Champion who has been featured on the TV shows Hot Shots and 3 Gun. In bands SNAFU, Furnace, and Sludgesickle, Clint has as much expertise with a six string as a shotgun. Bass player Billy Swanlund brings thirty-four years of experience along with a heritage that runs deep in the ‘Burg as the son of the late great slide player, Stewart Swanlund of the Marshall Tucker Band. They didn’t have to look far to find someone to take the drummer’s stool. Russel Milner, son of former Marshall Tucker Band guitarist Rusty Milner, has played drums for Grey Ally and Friends, The Band Brooks, The Audibles, and various Clemson jazz bands. He also currently serves on his church’s worship team. Rounding out this cast of characters is Alan Ruff, a current teacher of English to middle school students. From bar rooms and honky-tonks, to worship and weddings, Alan has been singing to crowds with his unique style since the late 80’s. From KISS to Motley Crue, and AC/DC to Aerosmith, with GnR and Van Halen sprinkled in, when you’re ready to rock, it’s time to Turn Up the Monster.
