Get your modems out! We are thrilled to announce that Wednesday, July 23rd, we will be playing a special 30th anniversary screening of Lain Softley's bodacious 1995 teenage cyber-drama classic, HACKERS, at Art House Cinema and Pub as July's film in our NOSTALGIA NIGHT series! Packed with an undeniably eye-catching visual aesthetic and an incredibly fun story, HACKERS is a characteristic epic that has honestly aged like a fine wine! A mid-90s time capsule of Y2K fashion, charmingly surreal depictions of the early internet, a bumping drum and bass soundtrack, and energetic performances from younger versions of memorable faces, HACKERS is an absolute joy ride of a film that you don't want to miss out on!
After being arrested by the U.S Secret Service and being legally banned from using computers for writing a powerful computer virus, teenager Dade "Crash Override" Murphy discovers a devious plot by a nefarious hacker known as The Plague. Along with his skilled hacker friends, they must use their computer skills in order to obtain evidence of the plot while being pursued by both the Secret Service and the evil computer genius who knows they are onto him!
