FILMMAKING CLASS: THE ART OF THE 48-HOUR FILM CONTEST

The Portland 48-Hour Film Project is coming up August 1-3! This is the biggest short time limit contest in the region. If you're a local filmmaker, it's a good idea to participate. The class will answer various questions. What is this contest? Why do it? How does it work? What are the awards? The class will then go into important tips and tricks. Writing a script, filming it, and editing the footage into a solid short film all within 48 hours is hard. Mike Schwab will be leading the class. He led teams during the last two 48-hour contests; his team won "Best Use of Genre" in 2023. Mike has learned a lot about how to do these contests, and he'll be passing on the wisdom he gained during those experiences. Get excited about participating in the contest, and then come on out to the class to prepare yourself for it! Suggested donation: $5-$10.
