Do you enjoy reading nonfiction? Do you like the idea of talking about literature in a cozy old house? Join us at the Shelton McMurphey Johnson House for our History Book Club. We are reading books that matter to the SMJ, and we want our patrons to go on this journey with us. We encourage our patrons to look for books at their local library or at one of Eugene or Springfield's many bookstores. Come and discuss these three books on the following dates:
June 26: Dreams of West: A History of the Chinese in Oregon, 1850-1950, Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association
July 24: Revolutionary Mothers: Women in the Struggle for America’s Independence by Carol Berkin
Aug 28: The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America
by Richard Rothstein
Sept 18: Tribal Histories of the Willamette Valley by David G. Lewis
