Wynne Sargeant and Julia Weinberg - 530pm

Come to the shop this Tuesday July 1st at 530pm and meet two amazing winemakers: Wynne Sargeant of Matilja Wines, and Julia Weinberg of Soûl Wines. Matilija is a Chumash name for the local wilderness, the local sandstone that scatters the hills, and the Matilija poppy. Also, I might add, the winemaking adventure of husband and wife team Cody & Wynne Sargeant. In many ways, it embodies the beauty of Santa Barbara, which served as their primary inspiration for this project. Their winemaking approach involves minimal intervention––each step thoughtfully carried out by the two of them with an eye towards quality. A couple winemaking together...how about that!

At Soûl Wines, we believe wine should be fun and real - that wine should be “Au Naturale”. We want to strip away the unnecessary and reveal what’s really there. We want to give you Soûl! Soûl is Lucas Meisinger, Julia Weinberg and Doug Bennett. We don’t have a vineyard, we don’t have a chateau, but we do have Soûl. We’re three friends living in Santa Barbara, loving the wine life, making something honest, and most importantly having a lot of FUN!
