PSYCHEDELIC ATTACK “We live in an age where information and the mediums of its dissemination have been weaponized. Psychedelic Attack is presented as an example of how to break through mental / cultural concepts rapidly by subverting communication tools of the 20th century. “Psychedelic” (from Ancient Greek psukhḗ, “mind, soul” + dêlos, “manifest, visible”). “Attack” from Italian attaccare (“to join, attach”) (used in attaccare battaglia (“to join battle”). Old video camera, old television set, photo-resister, audio mixers and analog effects. No-input mixing combined with video feedback. Complex evolving visual patterns that strobe at illusion and hallucination inducing frequencies simultaneously translated into audible textures too complex to consciously follow. The sound and light overwhelm and become indistinguishable while your brain attempts to associate and find meaning. The stimuli will beckon you to muster your best attention to perceive it as it changes and grows. Chase it as if it were a wild animal running through the brush. Chase it like an exhausted starving person chases their last chance to live. https://vimeo.com/748653133
RITUAL PURIFICATION from Vancouver. RITUAL PURIFICATION is an Indigenous noise, drone, and experimental sound artist based in Vancouver, Canada. He is nêhiyaw and Denesuline from Treaty 6 territory and his work draws both from Indigenous cultural knowledge, protocols, and sound worlds, as well as ritual practices, field recordings, and sound samples from across the globe. His 2023 debut album Makara was released by Bent Window Records, who called it “a powerful work of ritual”. He has since had a prolific run of releases through 2023 and 2024, on Mutual Aid, Black Artifact, Drama Recorder, BISAD, Communal Deafness, Venalism, Outsider Industries, Enforced Existence, 1tracktape, and more. His live performances and recordings are self-contained rituals that incorporate a punishing array of noise-generating devices, sound sources, pedals, field recordings, and efx that are transmuted and transformed into deep melodic drones, crushing waves of harsh noise, fragments of lost melodies, and echoing rhythmic ambience. RITUAL PURIFICATION, as the name suggests, offers a potent, immersive and, at times overwhelming, experience of conjured spirit, ritual noise, and sound. RP also records as 43V3RCH3M1CAL5 and is one half of the noise experimental duo ORACLE CHAMBER and the electronic duo CHXMERAS. https://linktr.ee/ritualpurification https://ritual-purification.bandcamp.com/
