Media Makers Summer Camp | Filmmaking

Get on-set experience and work with professional-grade film equipment! During this session, campers will learn the fundamental elements of filmmaking - storytelling, cinematography, directing, sound design, and lighting. They will create storyboards and shot lists, learn to operate cinema cameras, and work with their fellow campers and industry professionals to produce a short film.

Candidates:
Grand Rapids high-schoolers with a passion and interest in media. No previous experience required.

Cost:
This camp is free to join. Campers are paid a stipend for their participation.

About Media Makers:
Mixing the explorative atmosphere of a summer camp with internship-level professional experiences, Media Makers is designed to teach high school students fundamental production techniques through creating. Over the course of a week, campers will learn from industry professionals, work with high-quality media equipment, and produce their own original short film, TV show, or podcast.

Grand Rapids Community Media Center:
All campers receive a free one-year membership to GRTV and the Grand Rapids Community Media Center. This gives them free access to the production equipment they will learn to use during their session to keep creating beyond their camp experience.
