June’s Theme: Squad Up
The "Squad Up" theme celebrates the camaraderie and strength of infantry squads or small warbands. Whether it's a unit of Tactical Marines, a band of Chaos Cultists, or any other group of warriors, this theme invites you to showcase the power of teamwork and the diversity of battlefield roles. Bring together these warriors in cohesive, detailed squads that reflect their unity and purpose in combat.
► How to Enter:
Choose a model that fits the theme and paint it according to the painting rubric outlined below. The model must meet the following requirements: it should be painted with at least three colors, properly based, and composed of at least 50% Games Workshop (GW) parts.
Showcase your artistic skills by submitting your entries to the event throughout the month, where they will be displayed in a secure location for all to admire!
► Painting Rubric:
Each category can award 1-10 points.
• Preparation: Clean assembly, mold lines removed, and gaps filled
• Basecoat Coverage: Smooth and even base coat without streaks or blotches
• Color Scheme: Cohesive and appropriate choice of colors, creativity
• Blending and Layering: Smooth transitions between shades and highlights
• Shading: Effective use of shadows to enhance depth
• Detail Work: Precision in small details, like eyes, armor trims, or insignia
• Weathering Effects: Realistic wear and tear, rust, or grime (if applicable)
• Freehand Designs: Accuracy and creativity in freehand elements (if present)
• Basing: Base design and execution, including materials and integrity
• Overall Impression: General aesthetic appeal and “wow factor”
♦ Prize Support (Store Credit):
• 1st Place: $40
• 2nd Place: $20
• 3rd Place: $15
June 28th: Cut off date to submit
July 5th: Winner announced
