The musical worlds of composers Louise Farrenc and Franz Schubert converge in this concert featuring piano chamber music. A brilliant yet overlooked figure of the Romantic era, French composer Louise Farrenc (1804 – 1875) crafted works of remarkable depth and elegance. Her Piano Trio in D Minor, Op. 34 receives a Nottingham premiere, shining a spotlight on her artistry.

Schubert’s joyous “Trout” Piano Quintet in A Major also takes centre stage, performed by our wonderful Festival Artists. Filled with warmth, lyricism, and boundless energy, the quintet’s brilliant interplay between piano and strings brings the evening to a festive close.
