Monday Night Big Band Directed by Nathan LeFeber

The Monday Night Big Band is a biweekly performance as a part of the Capital Jazz Society Jazz series. It finds its roots in the same tradition as the Village Vanguard in New York City. The band is made up of a variety of musicians in the area and is different each week.
Nathan LeFeber, a Nebraska native, holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and a Master's in Trombone Performance from the University of Iowa. He has taught instrumental music since 2003, currently serving at Kearney High School since 2011. Previously, he taught at Beatrice High School and Lincoln Christian School. LeFeber has held leadership roles in music education organizations, including Chair of Band Affairs for the Nebraska Music Educators Association and President of both the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association and Phi Beta Mu. He is an active adjudicator and guest conductor, having led numerous honor bands across Nebraska and was honored with the 2025 Nate Metschke Creative Teacher Award. As a trombonist, he has performed with several professional ensembles and toured Germany with the Eurobrass ensemble.
