Come down and listen to Dozo My Lady on the 2nd Friday of every month for Jazz Night at The Buffalo Distilling Company from 7 - 10pm. Since April of 2018, Dozo has brought Jazz, and pop improvisations and Standards to the ears of happy audiences at Buffalo Distilling. Pair the night of entertainment Dozo will provide with OneFoot Cocktails and you'll certainly have no regrets. :) They will make a mocktail too if that's what you need.
Dozo My Lady features: Carolyn Lansom (lead vocals and hand percussion), Dave Lansom (upright electric bass) & Greg Amato (Gypsy Guitar). This group has been featured at the Northwest Jazz Festival, and was selected by the 2023 JazzBuffalo readers poll as the favorite Jazz / Pop band of the Year!
Carolyn Lansom’s multifaceted vocals have resulted in several nominations for the Best Female Jazz Vocalist in the JazzBuffalo reader’s poll, as well. Singing professionally for more than a decade she has worked with many Buffalo area greats, as well as maintaining the roll of lead alto 2 for the acclaimed Holy Trinity Lutheran Choir. In 2016 and 2017 she co-produced a series of standing-room-only shows with the group Sugar Katty Cool, and occasionally she is honored by joining the bandstand of local favorites My Cousin Tone. In August of 2023 she was honored to perform with them on the main stage at the Northwest Jazz Festival in Lewiston. This performance was voted the most memorable performance that year.
Greg and Dave grew up playing music together and what makes this band special is their ability to communicate so well with each other and help tell the story of the particular song we are playing with many levels of dynamics and musicianship.
