Tua Karalus has over 25 years of commercial and scientific diving experience. He and wife Courtney formed Deep Dive Division in 2018 and have developed the company into a leading specialist in the dive services field.
The company is currently developing technology in the monitoring and robotics space and are committed to finding solutions that protect freshwater and marine environments. This includes the Peara project which involves the creation of artificial reefs in the Bay of Plenty. These reefs are designed to mimic natural habitats, encouraging marine life, including crayfish, to return.
Deep Dive Division also plays a leading role in the ‘Beyond the Surface’ project in the Waikato River, with the aim of clearing the river of debris. So far 42 vehicles and tonnes of debris have been recovered.
Deep Dive Division are proud to have been awarded the 2025 ‘NZ Hi-Tech Awards Maori Business of the Year’.
