Ohiwa Loop Walk & BYO Picnic

Hi everyone!
This is a nature connection experience for kids and their grown ups. (Not a drop off / pick up event - just to be absolutely clear! 😇🤣)
Join us for a mindful meander around the Ohiwa Loop track to kick off the school hol’s. Let the kids run off some steam, explore nature’s playground and connect with likeminded folk.
Bring your lunch and we'll find a nice spot to picnic along the way.
We will meet at 11am in the car park on the right-hand side of the road, just before the Ohiwa Holiday Park on Ohiwa Harbour Road.
For those not familiar with this trail, the loop takes us through Onekawa Te Mawhai Regional Park (bush and farmland) over to Bryan's beach. The return leg is along a beautiful stretch of sand.
It is considered a relatively easy walk but does include a hill climb up to the summit of Onekawa Pa.
The AllTrails app says 1 hour 10 min for the 4.5km loop, but taking into account a picnic en-route and some conscious connection along the way, I would allow 2-3 hours.
