Exhibition opening: ‘The way things grow’ and ‘Mock Sun for an Inverted Daisy’
Join us to celebrate the opening of The Condensery’s latest two exhibitions!
Greenhouses and gardens are a way to escape time and place, offering a means for community building, creativity and experimentation amidst climate change. The way things grow is a group exhibition that uses the greenhouse as a metaphor to propose new futures where socially-engaged, decolonial and eco-conscious practices are embraced. The way things grow features new and existing work by Erika Scott, Gabriella Hirst, Jan Godfrey, Jane Nicholson, Libby Harward, Llewellyn Millhouse & Annie Boman, Rachel King, and Susan McConnel.
Opening concurrently is Tay Haggarty’s Mock Sun for an Inverted Daisy in The Condensery’s bomb shelter exhibition space. Haggarty’s installation uses the warmth of the sun as an entry-point for archiving queer joy. The golden artworks within Mock Sun for an Inverted Daisy function as a beacon of transgender joy and a reminder that everyone deserves to feel comfortable in public spaces.
