Yesterday I was talking with a friend and customer and asked why she thought people were so excited about the classes and events we are offering. She said, "Simple. I've always wanted to be invited to a book club or a cooking club, but no one has ever invited me. YOU just invited me. You made me feel welcome and a part of a community you are building here in Natchitoches."
That's what this is all about. To create community, a gathering place, where people who enjoy books, art, and good food can come together and share their ideas, get to know each other, and know that this town has something for them, for us. It not just for the tourists. First and foremost, we are here for our locals. But we also have a special place in our hearts for travelers who happen upon us as well.
