The Trinity Event
Eighty years ago this day, one of the most significant events in history occurred 133 miles south of Placitas: the 'Trinity" atomic explosion. The first of hundreds of nuclear tests, it was developed just 40 miles north of PCL in Los Alamos. This would lead to the end of WWII. Interestingly, Placitas was home to several officials connected to The Manhattan Project.
