This is a free event but please reserve a seat to give us an idea of numbers.
Join Manx Wildlife Trust for a free screening of Ocean with David Attenborough on Saturday 12th July at 7.30pm at EAC.
This is David Attenborough’s greatest message of hope - revealing 100 years of incredible ocean discovery and why there’s nowhere more important for all life on Earth than the ocean.
Co-produced by Open Planet Studios and Silverback Films, Ocean with David Attenborough showcases the wonder of life under the seas and exposes the realities and challenges facing our ocean as never-before-seen, from destructive fishing techniques to mass coral reef bleaching. Yet the story is one of optimism, with Attenborough pointing to inspirational stories from around the world to show that the ocean can recover to a glory beyond anything anyone alive has ever seen.
After the screening there will be a Q&A with Dr Peter Duncan (Senior Marine Environment Officer at the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture), Dr David Beard (Chief Executive of Isle of Man Fish Producers Organisation), Dr Isobel Bloor (Postdoctoral Fisheries Scientist at Bangor University) and Dr Lara Howe (Marine Conservation Officer at Manx Wildlife Trust) to discuss the film and how the Isle of Mans fishing industry is leading the way in sustainable fisheries.
