For the past two weeks, the Ludington Area Center for the Arts (LACA) has been resonating with the vibrant voices of young local talent, as the Ludington Youth Chorus' summer camp prepares for its culminating performance. This special concert, scheduled for Friday, June 27, 2025, will proudly showcase the remarkable achievements of students aged 9-13 from Ludington, Scottville, Manistee, Hart, and Pentwater.
Under the expert guidance of Ludington native Elliot Plummer, these budding vocalists have dedicated themselves to vocal training, ensemble work, and the sheer joy of collaborative music-making. Plummer, a passionate music educator holding a Bachelor's degree in Music Education, has fostered a supportive and inspiring environment within LACA's walls.
"Music is one of the greatest gifts that humanity has been given," says Elliot Plummer, "and I can see no better way to spend my life than by sharing the gift of music with young developing musicians. I love working with young people, and I love helping them accomplish what they thought impossible for themselves. This is especially true when it comes to music!"
This debut performance is a true celebration of the campers' hard work, courage, and dedication throughout the program. It also offers the community an exciting glimpse into the potential and promise of the Ludington Youth Chorus' upcoming year-long choral program. All attendees are warmly invited to experience the magic of these young voices uniting in song.
