OLDEN DAYS SCHOOLHOUSE EVENT
Discover what school was like in Readfield in the late 1800s! What was school like in the "olden days?" Did you know the Readfield Historical Society building served as the Readfield Depot School from 1853 to 1955 for Readfield children?
Please join us for this unique one-room schoolhouse immersive experience from the late 1800's with your teacher Miss Plourde. Participants will learn about and experience school as it may have been in Readfield in the late 1800s. This schoolhouse event is a collaboration between the Readfield Historical Society and the Readfield Community Library. Event is on Thursday, July 17th from 6:00-7:30pm at the Readfield Historical Society building at 759 Main St. in Readfield. Parking will be behind the building.
This is a free event but registration is required; due to space limitations, we will limit to the first 20 children who sign up. The program will be ideal for ages 5-12. Period dress is welcomed but not required. Parents/grandparents should plan to stay with their child during the program.
