Our next mobile food pantry is scheduled for Saturday, August 16th. Feeding America West Michigan will distribute 5,000 lbs. of food to people in need at the Red Pine Bible Church Campus. RPBC & SBC Members, we need AS MANY VOLUNTEERS AS POSSIBLE to help. Please don't assume someone else will do it. Mark the date on your calendar and plan to arrive at 9:00 a.m.! We will be doing the drive-through style again this time.
As a reminder, the Mobile Pantry will contain fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products and baked goods. The food is intended for anyone in need in Kent City and the surrounding area. Clients will not have to show identification or proof of income to receive food. They are encouraged to bring their own bags or boxes.
Food insecurity affects 1 in 8 people in West Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. In 2015, Feeding America West Michigan’s Mobile Pantry program provided 10.7 million pounds of food to people in the region. That’s the equivalent of nearly 9 million meals.
