Newaygo County's history is deeply intertwined with the lumber industry, particularly in the late 1800s. The dense forests and access to the Muskegon River led to extensive logging operations.

To manage the vast amount of logs floating down the river, mills adopted individual log marks. These were carved or branded onto the ends of the logs, serving as a unique identifier.

Come join us for story, song, a bit of history, and a craft that will allow you and yours to create your own log marks!

There will be free ice cream for the kids, and the menu will be available for those who would like to purchase one of Schindy’s famous pizza’s. Great day to visit a great destination in our neighborhood with friends and family.
