We're celebrating Grandparents' Day with a special Sunday Story Time! Join local authors Kaija Langley and Kelly Carey as they read their integenerational picture books, A Century for Caroline illustrated by TeMika Grooms and How Long is Forever? illustrated by Qing Zhuang.

A great grandma imparts the wisdom gained over her one hundred years to an eager little girl in A Century is for Caroline, a tender picture book tribute to family and living a long, purposeful, beautiful life. About Kaija Langley

Born and raised in East Orange, New Jersey, Kaija Langley has been writing since she fell in love with words at age seven. She knew she was onto something when she wrote her first poem and her grade school classmates thought she’d copied it from a book! A proud alumna of Morgan State University, a historically black college and university in Baltimore, Maryland, she received her MFA in fiction from St. Mary’s College of California in 2005. She’s called many places home over the years—New Jersey, Maryland, DC, California, Louisiana—and currently lives, writes, and plays in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with her two bonsai and her beloved.

About Kelly Carey

Kelly Carey is an award-winning children’s fiction author from New England. Her debut picture book, How Long Is Forever?, illustrated by Qing Zhuang, received a glowing review from Kirkus and was named a MUST READ by the Mass Center for the Book. For over a decade, her fiction stories have been published in Highlights for Children, Clubhouse Jr., and Girls’ World. Kelly is a graduate of The Institute of Children’s Literature and an active member of the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI).
