Join us this Thursday evening at 7 PM for a presentation on NH Rattlesnakes given by NH native and former reporter, Dan Billin.
In colonial-era New England, rattlesnakes were so abundant some settlers could pay their property taxes with the bounties offered for killing them. Today, however, Crotalus horridus, the timber rattlesnake, is the state’s rarest native animal—only a handful are known to survive.
Please take special note that, due to the ongoing extensive renovations being undertaken at the House Museum and grounds at the summit of Weeks State Park, our Thursday evening programs will not be presented at the Park this season. With one exception (August 14 - Rialto Theatre), all Thursday evening programs will take place at the State of NH North Country Resource Center, 629 Main St. (Route 3) in Lancaster, NH.
