Artificial Intelligence (AI) is certainly one of the most disruptive and fascinating technological advancements in the 21st Century. While it might be viewed with a mix of skepticism and excitement, most people don't really know enough about it to have a strong opinion. Science fiction has often depicted AI as both a valuable tool and an unpredictable danger, but how does the value and concern with AI actually impact the real world?

This 3rd Place Conversation, we're going to discuss the topic of the "Artificial Intelligence". We’ll begin with an explanation of Generative AI and how it is impacting the educational space. How are educators viewing GenAI and conversely, how do students feel? Why is it controversial? How does today’s GenAI differ from the predictive responses we appreciate when texting or typing an email?

Please join this month's conversation starter Angie Petit Lichter, Composition Marketing Manager for McGraw Hill Higher Education. Angie will share her experience with the how instructors are viewing, coping, resisting, and adapting to the impact of GenAI in the classroom, as well as the challenges that it poses to academic settings. Then we’ll let you decide – friend or foe?
