The Ashe County Bluegrass and Old Time Fiddlers Convention is a highly anticipated event in our community, celebrating its 54th year. It’s a weekend dedicated to preserving and honoring the traditional music that has been a part of our heritage for generations. Traditional music lovers and performers will gather at Ashe Park for the weekend.

The convention kicks off on Friday night with concerts featuring the The New Ballard's Branch Bogtrotters and Sassafrass Bluegrass Band. On Saturday the convention offers both adult and youth competitions, showcasing the best talent in instruments such as fiddle, guitar, banjo, dobro, bass fiddle, and bands, with prize money totaling over $4,000. Saturday morning begins with the 580 WKSK Old Time and Bluegrass Radio Show live from the stage at Ashe Park. The 2025 Judges are Kyle Dean Smith, Kilby Spencer, and Andrew Small and our Emcee will be Dale Morris.
Jamming is encouraged throughout the event, creating an atmosphere of collaboration and community. Snacks and concessions will be available throughout the weekend, making sure everyone has enough energy to keep the music going. Come join us for a weekend of music, fun, and tradition at the Ashe County Bluegrass and Old-Time Fiddlers Convention!

Day admission to the Fiddlers Convention is $10 and weekend admission is $15. Camping is available for both tents and RVs. Tickets can be purchased in advance on our website or at the gate. Proceeds from the Fiddlers Convention support the Ashe County Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM) Program providing instruction in guitar, banjo and fiddle for students in grades 3-8.
