CERT Basic Training - Fall 2025

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned in the classroom and during CERT exercises, members can assist their community or workplace following an emergency event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.
The following is the schedule for the Sept./Oct. CERT Basic Training Class. Classes will be at the Flagler County Emergency Operations Center from 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m

Monday, September 22 —Disaster Preparedness

Wednesday, September 24 — CERT Organization

Monday, September 29 —Disaster Medical Operations—Part 1

Wednesday, October 1 —Disaster Medical Operations—Part 2

Monday, October 6—Disaster Psychology

Wednesday, October 8 — Fire Safety & Utility Controls

Monday, October 13— Light Search & Rescue Operations

Wednesday, October 15 —CERT & Terrorism

Monday, October 20 — Course Review, Final Exam & Simulation Brief

Wednesday, October 22 —Disaster Simulation and Graduation

Attendance is necessary at ALL Sessions to receive certification. (If you are unable to attend all sessions you can make up miss sessions at future CERT Basic Courses.) Attendees receive all materials needed during the course including manuals, backpacks of supplies and a free t-shirt upon completion.
