Clay Hand-Building Workshop: from raw clay to finished ceramic
Join us for a foundational experience in hand-building with clay. We will cover the essential techniques using "clay glue" (scoring, slipping, and securing clay) to create pinch-pot style bowls and slab projects, such as ornaments, small trays, and mugs. Beginners will receive guidance throughout their projects, with additional assistance available as needed.
What We Provide:
-3 pounds of clay per participant, along with basic tools, texture mats, and more
-Slabs for hand-building, and/or clay blocks for molding pinch pots
-Firing of greenware to bisque
-All necessary underglazes and glaze for the second firing, plus clear glaze (unless you prefer not to use it)
-Support for beginners on projects, with reasonable assistance available
