The Northville Art House currently seeks artworks for Hines’ Lines, an exhibition inspired by the contributions of American road pioneer Edward N. Hines.
Hines, originally an owner of a printing business in Detroit, MI, became a pioneering American figure in road development.
Following Hines’ contributions, artwork for this exhibition must include at least one of the following criteria:
1. a white or yellow line with a length of 50% of either the width or height of the surface; line(s) may be horizontal, vertical, diagonal, curved, zigzag, spiral etc; and may vary in size and thickness.
2. capture the parks, waterways, and tree-lined landscape along the 17.5-mile-long Edward N. Hines Drive, which runs from Northville to Dearborn Heights, following the Rouge River in Michigan.
3. or capture the architecture, landmarks, and pedestrians along 21.5-mile-long Woodward Avenue, which runs from Detroit River in Detroit to Pontiac, Michigan.
