Join us for an engaging introduction to the world of piano! In these 30-minute, instructor-led sessions, young participants will explore the basics of the instrument—learning about its parts, how it works, basic sounds, scales, notes, and beginner techniques.
The session will also introduce music as a language: how it's heard, read, played, written, and felt. Kids will even have a chance to begin playing simple songs together.
This fun and educational group session encourages collaboration, creativity, and confidence in a supportive musical environment.

Note to Parents: Parents are required to stay in the instruction room for the full duration of each 30-minute class.

About the Presenter
Ty Matthews is an instructor at Music Box Collierville, our June Local Business of the Month. He serves as both a Voice and Piano educator, as well as the Head of Academics. Ty began playing piano at his church at the age of 10 and soon after became one of its lead vocalists. Ty holds a bachelor's degree in music performance (Oboe) from the University of Texas at Arlington and a master's degree in music performance from Oklahoma City University. He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Music at the University of Memphis. Throughout his career, Ty has performed as a lead vocalist in numerous bands, touring extensively across the United States. He has also appeared at major music festivals, including South by Southwest and the Warped Tour. In addition to performing, Ty has a passion for education—he has led a variety of musical theater programs as both an accompanist and vocal coach, and he enjoys helping vocalists prepare for auditions.
