Grandfather Gerry and Grandmother Cathy are organizing an opportunity to pick sweetgrass this Sunday. If you are interested, please go to their home at 2453 Bouvier Rd., just south of Du Golf Rd, at 10:15 a.m. They will leave from there at 10:30 sharp to go to the site. You can carpool if you like.
Bring your tobacco to offer your prayer before picking the medicine. Bring your water, sunscreen, hat, and dress for the weather. The site is in a tall grassy area off the road, so you may wish to wear boots if tics concern you. Women, wear a long skirt to honour our female ancestors, relations, and the feminine energy, even though sweetgrass is a male medicine. We maintain that balance. Afterwards we will return to our place, and you are welcome to stay to braid your sweetgrass if you like.
If you wish, you can bring a light snack for yourself.
