Join us for a concert commemorating the 100th anniversary of Rhapsody in Blue's world premiere in 1924!
Pianist Renée Guerrero and mezzo-soprano Artemesia Lefay will perform a musical program in celebration of George Gershwin's iconic Rhapsody in Blue, plus other piano and vocal works by Gershwin & Kay Swift.
Swift was the first successful female composer on Broadway, and had a relationship with Gershwin that inspired both musicians. Guerrero has been entrusted with never-before-performed piano works by the Kay Swift Memorial Trust, and she is premiering and sharing her works with audiences who most likely aren't familiar with Kay Swift.
Free & open to all. No registration required.
Renée Guererro is a member of the piano faculty at The Westchester Conservatory of Music. She's performed at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, Lincoln Center's Merkin Hall, Faust Harrison Pianos, and venues in northern and southern Italy, including a performance of Rhapsody in Blue in a 12-century ship arsenal off the coast of Amalfi in Italy.
